GILLIAN FULLER
GILLIAN FULLER, THE BRAND in its present form, started with Gillian graduating
with a Fine Art degree from Newcastle University, UK, having specialised in textile
design.
After moving to South Africa, she became aware of the local skill of beading. So
from textile design to beadwork design, a highly successful combination ensued.
The inspiration for designs comes mainly from the environment, particularly a city
environment where architectural shapes suggest a myriad of ideas. Her interest in
the Bauhaus and Art Deco, as well as the African environment, are also contributing
factors.
The result is a range of beaded jewellery, mostly bracelets in various sizes, and neck
pieces. In addition, Gillian prints fabrics of her designs as well as limited edition
paper prints.
