MARIGOLD

Marigold specializes in hand-loomed beadwork. Established in the early 1990s in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe it is a co-operative of seventeen women. Since 2011 they have collaborated with Bulawayo-born, Johannesburg-based artist Joni Brenner to make the signature hand-loomed necklaces which are pure continuous loops of loomed beadwork in an endless array of designs.

The work represents an ongoing exploration of the creative possibilities within a tight set of parameters – beads, thread, loom.
